Who can pay and who can manage a workspace subscription

A workspace-bound upgrade link can be paid by someone other than a Slack workspace owner or admin, such as a Finance team member. Paddle collects the payer's billing identity, email, invoices, payment method, and tax details. Paying does not grant Slack access or workspace-administration rights.

Arialine's own billing-management UI remains Slack-gated. Workspace owners/admins can manage the workspace subscription through Arialine. Opening Paddle's portal from Arialine additionally requires a verified Slack email that matches the Paddle billing email.

Separately, the payer can access Paddle's hosted customer portal without joining Slack. Paddle sends secure portal links to the billing email, where the payer can access invoices, update payment details, and use payer-side subscription controls. Payer access in Paddle does not make that person a Slack member or an Arialine workspace admin.

Critical payment problems are communicated in two directions: Paddle notifies the payer at the billing email, and Arialine sends a Slack alert to current workspace owners/admins so the workspace is not surprised by a service-impacting problem.
